What are the classifications of injection molding machine manipulators?

The robots applicable in the injection molding industry can be divided into the following two types according to the degree of intelligence:

1. Basic injection manipulator: This type of manipulator generally includes a fixed mode program and a teaching mode program according to production process requirements. The fixed mode program covers several standard processes of injection molding production, using industrial control to do simple, regular and repetitive actions. The teaching mode program is specially adapted for injection molding machines with special production processes, and achieves the purpose of successful retrieval by orderly and safe arrangement of basic actions.

2. Intelligent injection manipulator: This type of manipulator generally includes functions such as multi-point memory placement, standby at any point, and more degrees of freedom. Generally, it adopts a servo drive, which can perform more complex operations with the maximum imitation of humans. Equipped with advanced sensors, it has visual, tactile and thermal functions, making it a highly intelligent injection manipulator.

According to other classification methods, the classification is as follows:

The driving mode is divided into pneumatic, frequency conversion, and servo.

According to the mechanical structure, it is divided into rotary type, horizontal type, and side access type.

According to the structure of the arm, it is classified as single-cut and double-cut.

According to the number of arms can be divided into: single arm, double arm.

According to the X-axis structure, it is divided into a hanging arm type and a frame type.

According to the different control procedures, it is divided into multiple sets of fixed programs and self-editable programs.

The size of the device can be distinguished by the movable arm, generally in 100MM increments.​
