Factors affecting the production of injection molding robots

Update:04 Nov 2021

Many machinery and equipment manufacturers now choose to use injection-molded robotic arms as their main production method. The use of automated robotic arms in production can improve product efficiency and quality, and reduce production costs. However, whether the injection molding robot can work accurately in production is actually a three-dimensional positioning problem. It is a combination of several line and corner positioning. Only by reducing the errors of these combinations, the injection manipulator can operate normally. So, what are the factors that affect single-line or angular positioning errors?

Positioning method and speed
Different positioning methods have different effects. For example, when positioning a mechanical dog board, the positioning accuracy is related to the rigidity of the dog board and the speed when it touches the dog board. The positioning speed has a great influence on the positioning accuracy, because the energy consumed by the moving parts is different when the positioning speed is different. Generally, the positioning speed should be reasonably controlled to reduce the positioning error, such as improving the buffering performance and efficiency of the buffering device, and controlling the drive system to decelerate the moving parts in time.
Precision and rigidity
The manufacturing accuracy and installation speed regulation accuracy of the manipulator directly affect the positioning accuracy. When the structural rigidity and contact rigidity of the manipulator itself are low, the positioning accuracy is generally low due to vibration. The position control accuracy of switch control, electro-hydraulic proportional control and servo control are different. Not only the accuracy and sensitivity of various control elements are different, but also related to the position feedback device.
Weight of moving parts and driving source
The weight of the moving parts includes the weight of the manipulator itself and the object being grabbed. Changes in the weight of moving parts have a greater impact on positioning accuracy. Generally, when the weight of the moving parts increases, the positioning accuracy decreases. Therefore, in the design process, not only the weight of the moving parts itself must be reduced, but also the influence of the change in the grasping weight during the work must be considered. The pressure fluctuation of hydraulic pressure and air pressure, the fluctuation of voltage, oil temperature and air temperature will all affect the repeat positioning accuracy of the manipulator. Therefore, take necessary measures to stabilize oil pressure and oil temperature, such as using accumulators to stabilize oil pressure,
